Sunday, August 16
2:00pm
Barnes & Noble in University Village
Four prominent Seattle authors join in a panel discussion and reading. Novelists Heather Barbieri ("The Lace Makers of Glenmara"), Carol Cassella ("Oxygen"), Randy Sue Coburn ("A Better View of Paradise"), and Mary Guterson ("Gone to the Dogs"), will discuss their new novels and writing lives. The conversation will be moderated by Kit Bakke ("Miss Alcott's E-mail"). These authors are members of the Seattle 7 Writers, an organization that works to present outstanding Seattle literature to the community while raising money for a local, reading-related cause. A percentage of book sales from this event will benefit Seattle Teens in Public Service (TIPS) -- a not-for-profit dedicated to raising social awareness in teen leaders through valuable summer internships. TIPS interns tutor and mentor at risk children as well as provide cultural enrichment and educational opportunities to the Greater Seattle community.
